About The Right Lawyers
therightslawyers is one of a kind. The first and only boutique TMT (Technology Media and Telecommunications) firm set up in the Middle East to cater exclusively for:
the Creative Industries including Advertising and Marketing, Music and Entertainment, Event Management, Publishing and Media (including Multimedia and Interactive), TV, Radio and Film and Sport;
businesses that are driven by or reliant on intellectual property rights (including brand and other IP rights owners, companies facing counterfeiting and IP infringement issues, franchise operations, pharmaceutical and biotech companies, companies using IP as a primary way of raising investor value, etc); and the Technology, IT and Telecommunications Industries.
Mark Hill is widely recognised as the leading media, intellectual property and technology lawyer in the region. With experience in the Middle East since the mid 1990s, he has led therightslawyers, the Middle East's first and only boutique media, intellectual property and technology law firm, since 1993.
On Mark's long list of awards and nominations is his most recent: IP Luminary for his innovative approach and excellence in the discipline of copyright law.
Fiona Robertson A media lawyer with a vast depth of industry knowledge, Fiona graduated from the University of Adelaide school in Australia.
Determined to be a media lawyer, her first media position was for an Australian surf show doing the job that no one else wanted В– coffee runs, call sheets and negotiating the sponsorship agreements. She quickly transitioned to in-house counsel, working for an Australian production and film distribution house then spending 5 years as lawyer for a large multinational production company. Darshan Ramamurthy works as a senior IP lawyer with therightslawyers and handles a wide range of matters related to copyright, trademark, domain name, patent and design laws. Prior to specializing in intellectual property rights, Darshan had an inclination towards medicine - while at law school he even mustered up the courage and obtained a degree in Medical Jurisprudence and Forensic Sciences. However, the prospects of donning a black and white coat seemed more appealing than just a plain lab coat, and this prompted him to review his career options. Having completed his studies at the prestigious Indian Law Society College, Darshan joined the office of a senior IP practitioner in Delhi where he gained expertise in the full range of IP related matters, both contentious and non-contentious. This laid the foundation for his career and Darshan was then offered a position at a boutique multi-national law firm. During his 5 year stint with this firm, Darshan managed complex IP portfolios for leading companies accross diverse industries (ranging from petrochemical, to snack-food and information technology). But on discovering a swell new doughnut outlet at Dubai Media City, Darshan simply could not resist applying at the office of therightslawyers which, coincidentally, is located in an adjacent building.
Mostyn Rischmueller loves music. He played with a jazz band for a couple of years when he was younger, then he found work in music stores, then he produced hip hop records.
